These boys came to us on 8/27/17 because they were part of an oops litter!

UPDATE 9/22/17 on Judi’s boys:

“Either together or separately, the boys enjoy hanging around our necks in a Ratoob or on a shoulder for extended periods of time, sometimes bruxing and hiding in one’s hair.

Black is the bigger boy. On shoulder rides he will climb from person to person and back. He is a true people rat, hamming for treats of any sort including Reese’s Puffs, Yogies, Dried Papaya, and tiny bits of people food. When you speak to Blackey he runs forward, climbs the bars asking to be taken out, and tolerates brief tummy tickles through the bars. He’s the first to explore and redecorate the cage. He will brux just to be spoken to.

Purple was the smallest and shyest of the seven babies, and more of a rat’s rat. He likes to climb over or under his brothers for a cuddle and spends much of his day cuddling with my personal rat in the giant igloo while Blackey is independently hanging out on another level of the cage, often watching for people. When Purpley is feeling cautious she doesn’t freeze in place, but retreats and explores looking for a buddie or a hidey hole.

They are both extremely gentle and never bite, even when you are holding and offering a treat in your fingers. Both appear intelligent and we expect Blackey is sociable enough to learn tricks. Both willingly walk out on a hand, and are easy to pick up.”

UPDATE 10/5/17 on Molly’s boys:

“Leroy/Blue is the king of the bunch, very dominant, adventurous, confident, and brave. The two others will follow his lead. He was the first (and only one so far) to figure out how to get out of the cage and onto the ground once I open the latch. He always wins in a wrestling match with his brothers. He is the most difficult to get to go back into his cage after playtime… he will definitely need a parent who will allow him at least an hr outside of the cage a day to explore!

Baxter /Red is very playful and inquisitive. He has been the most playful with me so far. When I let him out of the cage he will come and climb on me and try to wrestle with my hand. He is constantly nipping his brothers rear ends to play and wrestle with him. He is a sucker for a treat! He suffers form cage aggression and is uncomfortable with people in his space.

Otto/Orange the runt is the smallest and is sweet and mellow. He sometimes gets ganged up on by his brothers (they will try to take his treats) but he still loves to play with them. He was the most shy but is very interested in people but a bit afraid to venture too far away from his brothers during play time. He is calm when you pick him up and pet him. He is becoming more brave every day with his brothers encouragement. He is a funny little fellow.”
